Your reminder data remains entirely under your control and is only accessible on the device where you installed the app.

3. Permissions We Request

GoalZippy requests certain Android device permissions to deliver its core functionality. Below is a complete explanation of each permission:

Notification Permission

Why we need it: To send you reminder alerts and play alarm sounds when your reminders are due.
What we access: The ability to post notifications to your device's notification tray.
What we don't access: The content of any other app's notifications or your notification history.

Full-Screen Intent Permission (Lock Screen Alarms)

Why we need it: To display the alarm screen and ring your device even when the screen is locked, so you never miss a reminder.
What we access: The ability to show a full-screen notification overlay over your lock screen.
What we don't access: Your lock screen PIN, password, biometric data, or any other lock screen content.

Exact Alarm Permission (Android 12+)

Why we need it: Android 12 and later requires explicit permission to schedule exact alarms. Without it, your reminders may not fire at the precise time you set.
What we access: The ability to schedule alarms at exact times via the Android AlarmManager.
What we don't access: Any other alarm or clock app data.

Battery Optimization Exemption (Optional)

Why we may need it: On some devices, aggressive battery optimization can prevent alarms from firing in the background.
What we access: The ability to continue running scheduled tasks in the background.
What we don't access: Battery usage data of other apps.

Note: All permissions are optional in the sense that you can skip them. However, some features (like lock screen alarms) will not function if the corresponding permission is denied.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, trade, or disclose your personal data to any third party, including:

Advertisers or marketing companies
Analytics providers
Data brokers
Government authorities (except as required by applicable law)

Since all your data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us, we have no data to share.

GoalZippy uses the following open-source libraries to deliver its functionality. These libraries operate entirely on-device and do not send your data to external servers:

Retention: Your reminders and settings are stored on your device for as long as you use the app.
Deletion: You can delete individual reminders at any time within the app. To delete all data, simply uninstall GoalZippy from your device. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data.

7. Children's Privacy

GoalZippy does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Since we collect no personal information at all, GoalZippy is safe for use by users of all ages.

If you believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

8. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Your data is protected by your device's own security features (screen lock, encryption).
GoalZippy does not transmit data over the internet, eliminating the risk of data interception during transmission.
We do not maintain any servers that could be breached to expose your data.

We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a screen lock to further protect your data.

You have full control over your data:

Access: You can view all your reminders directly within the app at any time.
Correction: You can edit any reminder at any time within the app.
Deletion: You can delete individual reminders or all data by uninstalling the app.
Permission Revocation: You can revoke any permission granted to GoalZippy at any time through your device's Settings > Apps > GoalZippy > Permissions.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable laws. When we do:
